Nursing Schools

Nursing Schools

The nursing profession is growing faster than almost any other occupation. The demand for nurses is higher than ever. Nursing schools provide the vehicle for those dedicated individuals who see the health of others as an important goal and want to make this a career. Many factors have contributed to the need for nurses. The population is aging, group health practices are growing, and hospitals are short on personnel. If nursing is for you, you'll find that you can make it a solid career.

If you decide to apply to nursing school, you will have to have very good admission test scores and a GPA of at least 3.5. You'll want to be sure the school has the proper accreditation and the type of program you're looking for. Some nursing schools start their students on a pre-nursing track; others offer nursing classes in the first year of study.

Your courses will include nursing and physical sciences, theories and practice, research and behavioral studies and more. As you progress, nursing schools offer clinical practice and are usually partnered with hospitals and health care facilities to provide this invaluable experience. When you graduate from nursing schools, you'll be ready to put into practice all that you have learned in the environment that you choose. You will be in demand.
