Beauty School

If you want to be the person that provides beauty services like cutting and styling hair, or if you want to provide skin care and nail services, you need to attend a beauty school. These schools offer courses that will help you attain this goal.
A beauty school (sometimes called a school of cosmetology) is one that teaches students how to become a beautician, hairdresser, stylist, manicurist, etc. The US Department of Labor predicts that employment along these lines will grow between 9 and 17 percent by the year 2014, so this is a good career to consider.
The programs at a beauty school last about a year if you attend full time. When you graduate from the program, you will most likely have to be licensed by the state. You will be tested on what you learned in school, and if you pass, you will be licensed and ready to start your career.
Some of the areas that are covered in beauty school are: haircutting and styling, hair coloring, business practices, wigs, nail care, skin care and more. You will have course time as well as practice time to help you when you graduate and take a job with a salon (or even start your own salon). When you have completed your beauty course, you should be able to do just about anything you want in the cosmetology field.
